Independence Day - are we really free?

It's a week before Independence day and after being up and about doing advocacy work for Free and Opensource Software and the open source philosophy.. I wonder, are we really free? Free to do what and pursue what? Free to be ?

In this picture you see the 4 reasons I labour and toil. Seth, Elisha, Elijah and the Philippines. Sometimes the order changes, but it doesn't mean I value them any less. My God is a given. I am not a religious man, but I like to consider myself as a spiritual man. My wife and partner is also a given. She is the best parts of me and it's a constant challenge for me to bring out the best out of myself and my partner for the greater glory of God and Country.

Are we really free? We are not. Our biggest enemy is poverty... and this is the lack of want or material possessions. It's poverty of the mind ... that scarcity mentality. The programming that for us to win someone has to lose. I am old school, this paradigm shift is something I have to constantly guard. I consider myself a blessed man, I have a job which I enjoy --as a social entrepeneur--- I have a family who loves me--- and I have good health enough to enjoy them all. I pray that you too will count your blessings.

I miss having a fat pay check,I miss having to travel any where and any time I please. But I cherish the quality time with my wife and kids. I cherish the improvements I see in my community-- ideacampdavao, brigada eskwela and outreach to local orphanages.

my prayer

"God, you're a great provider and with your wisdom and fervent love for the Filipino people please bless us all with good health, teach and inspire us to work together for the common good. Bless the social entrepreneurs no matter how few they are... bless them abundantly so that their projects may prosper for the greater Glory of your Kingdom."
